Cup of Coco Feltie and Crochet Heart charm

Here are a couple of little crafts that I made in the past few days.

Here is a nice cup of hot coco feltie keychain. :) I drink a lot more hot coco than coffee. Mmmm mmm good. :) I wonder if I should put some mini marshmallows in the coco since that's how I like mine. :) I am also happy to report that my blanket stitch is getting better. :)

Here is a crochet heart cell charm/ fob. I used Sailor Octopus's free pattern. Do you think it would work for a Mother's Day present? I am racking my brain for Mother's Day presents. On the next one, I might add a cute face. :)

Hook: 3.75mm
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red

Happy Hump Day!

Earth Day 2012

So, I am back posting this because on Earth Day, something told me to take the day off from some tech by killing my laptop charger completely. :) After no touching the internet for 3 days, I finally bought a new one. :p I hope you guys had a great Earth Day and did something for future generations. Here is a link to 10 easy ways to be green. :)

Easter Bunny

Please help me welcome Lady Fluffington into the world. :) She was born on Easter Sunday but she didn't reach her family until now.

I got the free Spring Bunny pattern from All About Ami. I love all her patterns, :) My bunny looks really different from hers but I think it's because of the eye placement. The facial feature details really make the amigurumi. :)

Without the hat

Love her bunny tail!
Does she look like a puppy?
Ears up!
As you can see I changed the pattern a little. I didn't add fabric to the inside of the ears or felt to the bottom of her feet. I just did a color change for the details. Here's how I did it.

Pattern Modifications:
Ears:
R1: in all white
R2: Sc 2 in each sc for 2 sc spots in white (you will end up with 4sc in white) then change to blue for 1 sc spot (2) then change back to white for the last 2 sc (4)
R3: follow the pattern but where you have white stitches, use the white yarn and where you have blue stitches, use the blue yarn. I just pulled the blue yarn loosely over. You should end up with 6 White - 3 Blue - 6 White.
R4: 6 sc in white - 4 sc in blue (do not inc, just stitch another blue in the next white spot) - 5 sc in white
R7: add another blue the same way you did R4. You will end with 6W-5B-4W
R9: Just follow the colors around, you will never have to dec a white and blue together
R13: change the last blue to white to get 4W-2B-3W
R15: change to all white

Confusing? You should look at my notes. :p If I make another bunny, I will take step by step pics to help you guys out. :)

Legs:
R1-3 in Blue
R4-7 in white
That simple. :)

With her cute tophat.
I used this free top hat pattern but added one more row to the brim. I also added cardboard inside to keep it stiff. I put a pin back on the bottom of the hat so that it can be taken off or re-positioned.

She is going to my good friend, Rachel, who has always supported me. Love ya Bunny, both bunnies! :)
You can check out my Lady in her new home on Rachel's blog. :)

B-day presents: Hunger Games Cup Cozy and Mouse Amigurumi

My friend, Becky's birthday just passed. I finished her presents a little too late but that's ok because she didn't realize I was going to send her anything anyway. :)

Present #1: Hunger Games MockingJay cup cozy

She loves the Hunger Games books and movie so I had her sister, Rachel, cross stitch a MockingJay for me to put onto a red cup cozy. I think it came out really well. :) I just hope Becky doesn't realize what we are doing because she saw her sis stitching the Mockingjay. hehe

Present #2: A cute mouse amigurumi

Becky was born in the Year of the Rat according to the Chinese horoscope. And since her favorite color is red, I thought a cute little red mouse! :)  I used this Pocket mice free pattern.

He's so little! :) He fit right into the Starbucks tumbler I am sending as well. :) That's present #3. :)

I did do one modification to the pattern:
Feet:

chain 2
into 1st chain:
hdc, slip stitch, dc, slip stitch, hdc, slip stitch

I hope she likes everything! Happy Birthday!!

I thought I might try a little Pokemon. :)

My favorite pokemon are Pikachu and Jiggilypuff. I am a first generation pokemon lover. I haven't watched it decades! Crazy! :)

"MINE!" Cup Cozy / Sleeve

I made this because a friend always half jokingly says "Mine!" when there's something yummy around. But now every time I hear this, all I hear is the seagulls from Finding Nemo. :) See this clip if you don't know what I mean. :)

And without further ado, here is my cup cozy. :)

My Coffee!
It might not have your name on it but you have definitely claimed this cup of joe with this cup cozy. :)

Sorry, I am not posting a pattern. There are tons of free crochet cup cozy patterns out there. :) I am not posting what I did because it is just too confusing for others and there's a problem. :P Gotta get it fixed before I post it. :)

But look what I found. This is crazy! Someone actually crochet a Finding Nemo Seagull. :) I think he's very cute!

Felt Steampunk Gears Cup Cozy

Here's another item for MobiCon. I saw a pic of some gears on a pillow and thought it would make a cute cup cozy. I didn't know how much work it would be to cut out all the gears and to sew them on, but I think it was well worth it. :)

Sorry, there's not pattern for it. I took apart a paper cup holder from my favorite boba place and used that as a template to cut out the black felt. Then I cut out gears and sewn them on. To hide all the thread and stitches, I cut out a second black cup cozy and sewn the two together. The result is a nicely insulated cup cozy to keep those hot drinks from burning your hands. :)

Ripple cup cozy

I've always been partial to blue but I saw this picture of a flower and loved the striking contrast between the navy blue and white. But I cannot find the picture again. I have found some other beautiful pics of the same look.

Pinned Image

And I loved that someone did a blue velvet instead of a red velvet cupcake. :)

Here is the cup cozy that came from these inspirational pictures.

I used a crochet ripple free pattern. It looks complicated but once you start, it is pretty easy to get moving. I added a ribbon so that it can be tightened to fit any cup.

I should have taken a picture of it before I zipped it up so you could see the ripple effect but you can kinda see it here. You can also check out the pattern's website to see some beautiful blankets made from this same pattern. :)

Have a great week!

Despicable Me Minion Amigurumi

I would like you all to meet Mindy's Minion. He was made from this free pattern for a mini Minion. I used the yarn I had on hand so it came out to be way bigger than the ones pictured with the pattern. I still think he's so funny and adorable! :)

While I was putting on his overalls, I realized that the eye was smooshing in a funny way. The eye really makes the facial expression. :) Here are the funny eye expressions.

Regular Eye

About to cry, No!!!

Really? OMG...I can't believe it (sarcastic)

Mad because you haven't finished me already
So, ok, I finally finished him. Please tell him to stop looking at me that way. O.o

I want to give you a hug!
Hug me!
Front
Mindy has made up a symbol for her brand. I was thinking of cutting some felt into the shape of a pocket and having her stitch on her brand symbol and then we could stitch it to the font of his overalls. If we do, I will post pictures of it up. :)

Back
Do you think he needs two tiny back pockets? I think his butt needs to be a little bigger if he's going to be copying them on the copy machine at work. hehe

He's so happy to be done and going to his new home soon. :)

Banana?
I hope you guys have a great weekend! :)
