I'm Seeing Green

My friend saw some pictures of this reversible bracelet I had put up on facebook and said she loved the bracelet and she loved green. When someone says that, I have to find an excuse to make something for them. hehe :P My excuse this time is that she is having a housewarming party. I know a bracelet is probably not the best housewarming gift but it's a sparkily. :) I hope she likes it. Maybe, I'll find some time to make silk flower pens for her. It would be more for her office than home but it would still be more practical. :p

Green Spiral Variation Bracelet

In my previous post, "Experiments" I talked about this stitch. The is the basic variation. In that post, I put up a link to instructions on how to make this bracelet. :) I used 4mm Tourmaline (Green) Swarvoski crystals for the center. For the outside, I used size 15 seed beads in a silver lined green and 3mm Peridot (green) Swarvoski crystals. I added an extender (not pictured) with a dangle at the end with one 3mm, one 4mm, and one 3mm crystal, because it's a gift. :) I like to add a dangle or a bell at the end of extenders because it helps people put the bracelet on.

The design for this bracelet is from the "Crystal Brilliance" book. Have you noticed that I just got the book and so have been trying all the bracelet designs in it? hehe

Here is the other side of that same bracelet. I really like how it can be reversible. :) The reversibility is what I added to the design in the book. :)

Green, like yellow, is not my favorite color to wear because of my skin tone so I tend to stay away from making bracelets with these colors but they are still very pretty. I need to find some way to make something with green and blue in it. I have been trying to figure out a way to combine those color combinations. Maybe, like the background of this blog, I can combine Peridot (green) with Aqua (blue). See, inspiration can come from anywhere, even blog backgrounds. :)
