Cup of Coco Feltie and Crochet Heart charm

Here are a couple of little crafts that I made in the past few days.

Here is a nice cup of hot coco feltie keychain. :) I drink a lot more hot coco than coffee. Mmmm mmm good. :) I wonder if I should put some mini marshmallows in the coco since that's how I like mine. :) I am also happy to report that my blanket stitch is getting better. :)

Here is a crochet heart cell charm/ fob. I used Sailor Octopus's free pattern. Do you think it would work for a Mother's Day present? I am racking my brain for Mother's Day presents. On the next one, I might add a cute face. :)

Another Steampunk Octopus Amigurumi

Yes, sorry, here is another Steampunk Octopus that I am making for Rachel's MobiCon booth. Did you like the updates on my WIP sidebar? :)

I usually don't re-make the exact same thing because I would just get too bored. There are 4 differences between this one and this one. :) 1. I added a crochet hat instead of a felt one. 2. I added a grey mustache for a more distinguished look instead of the mouth. 3. I used a darker blue yarn. I love blues. And 4. I added a more versatile hanger (you will see it at the end of the post). :)

I used this free pattern for the top hat. It was quite easy to make. I love the shaping. I think the rim could be one more row larger. :)

He accompanied me to grab In & Out for dinner. For those who don't live in California, it is a great burger joint that people over here love! :) They have a secret menu and everything. hehe

He's helping me decide what to order. Not really, I only get one thing every time I go. hehe

They give you these paper mats so that the box that your food comes in doesn't get your car dirty. They will ask if you want to eat it in your car or at home. If you say "eat in the car" then they will put it in an open box. Yum, hot fries!

He's helping me drink up the rest of my soda. :)

Now, for the new hanger system

I added a small split ring to the top of the hat before I sewed the hat to the head and before I stuffed the head too. So the string that connects the ring goes through it all and will last hopefully. I just added some glue to help.

I put a lobster claw finding onto a cell phone fob hanger. Sometimes they come like this. This allows the owner to take the hanger off and put it on their key chain, cell phone, or purse and then clip on the Octopus.

I hope someone will take him home in May. :) Good luck little one. :)
And I hope you all have a lovely weekend full of crafting! :)

Update 9-4-12:
My friend's sister named him Sir Sassafras. :) And he has been sold!
He is moving in with Megan in Washington State. :) I hope he remembers to be a gentleman. :)
My friend is super excited and posted about it here. :)
Great weekend, esp. since it was my bday weekend. :)

Kawaii Octopus Amigurumi V3

My friend, Rachel, loved her octopus and asked me to make another one for their MobiCon booth. Here is my 3rd incarnation and it's a girl this time and she's so kawaii! :) This time I didn't change the original pattern. My inspiration was the lolita fashion from Japan.

I put a lobster clasp and some chain on her so that she can be hung from keys or purses and shown off. :) I wanted to make the chain and clasp part of the doll more so I wove the yarn through the chain to cover it up a little more.

If you've seen enough of this cutie, then don't scroll down any further but I think she is so cute, she deserves a few more pictures. :) She was a great model by the way. hehe

I hope your weekend was filled with some awesome crafting. :) Mine went by way too fast. :p

Finished Fortune Cookie Keychains n Fobs

I am making a few of these fortune cookies for my friend's booth at MobiCon. We are going to add either keychain findings or cell fob findings.

These 2 fortune cookies were made with the same yarn but 2 different size hooks. The yarn calls for a 6mm hook. For the larger cookie on your left, I used a 4.25mm hook and for the right one, I used a 3.75mm hook. The hook size and your tension causes the stitches to be bigger or smaller. Interesting huh? :)

Day 2 - Use Up Some Bead Leftovers

This is Day 2 of Fusion Bead's 30 Day Bead Challenge and I have not finished my project from Day 1. :( I did get to decorate a tote and make a cute Lucky Clover pin but am not inspired to do anything with beads. :( I still pushed on.

Today, you are suppose to use up some bead leftovers. I rarely have any because I have stopped buying just for specific projects. But I do have 3 beads that have no homes at the moment. They were not picked to be in my friend, Melissa's birthday necklace. (I will post about this at a latter time when I can actually get a hold of the necklace and take some nice pictures. :p)

Here are the poor little guys:

Cute Hat Bead
Sheep Bead
Sheep's little face
Green Apple
I tried the hat on a lot of different 3D beaded shapes like my fish and hearts but it just didn't fit. So I decided to make the sheep bead into a fob for a cell phone or key chains.

I have a red dragon amgurumi to finish before I can finish up my Day 1 challenge. :p
Hope you all are having fun crafting! :)

Just Because Package

My best rabbit friend, Rachel, just got her package so I am able to post this. She squealed and sang so I think I did good with her package this time. :) Since I like her pics better, I am just going to link you to her post on the contents of the package. :) I am going to highlight some of her goodies for ya.

This cute My Melody note pad has one of those changing pictures on the front. I think it's so adorable. :P

And here is a Happy New Years pop up card. :) It is actually from Sanrio I do believe. :)

And Lastly, I just wanted to post some pics of my beading that I sent to her. She is going to have a booth at MobiCon this year in May with her friend. So, if you are in Mobile, Alabama, stop by and see these beauties in person. :)

Have a nice Mardi Gras weekend everyone! Stay safe.

Butterfly Fobs

My friend is going to have a spot at MobiCon to sell some cute stuff and has asked me to make her some butterfly fobs. I finished them up last night. :)

There's a pink one, a purple one, and a springtime colored one. I am lucky to have colored hangers and bells to match from Taiwan. I am debating on whether or not to make a blue one since a lot of girls these days like the color blue. :p

Have a fun time doing your Valentine crafting this weekend!

Bowaroma

I made this purple bow ring and thought it would be a cute cell phone charm. I decided pink would be really cute too. Here is the finished product. :)

Hmm...what other colors should I make these in?

Happy Hump Day!

Just Needed to Bead :)

I had an itch to bead so I did these quick ones to satisfy myself. :)

Scotty Doggie
Yesterday I wanted to do something cute. My mom has this silver one that I've always wanted so I made another one for myself. Isn't he just so cute! :) Used Swarovski crystals of course :) and he's about as tall as my thumb. :)

Some Hello Kitty heads I have
The smaller one was made with 3mm and the bigger one with 4mm Swarovski crystal bicones. They are reversible, the face is on both sides. :) And this is just part of my 3D beaded Hello Kitty collection. I will post the others later. :) I was talking to my friend, Trinity, on the phone and when I told her I had something for her, she said "Hello Kitty?" hehe Sadly at the time I had to say no, so I decided to make one for her. :)

Trinity's Purple Hello Kitty Head
She loves purple so I made it purple. :) I think the round eyes are cuter than the bicone ones. I can't wait to surprise her with this cutie. :)

I think the next itch will be more earrings...hehe maybe, maybe another bracelet..who knows. hehe

3D Patriotic Flag Heart

I made these 3D hearts with a flag pattern with Swarovski bicone crystals for my favorite soldiers in the Army. Since this is the most recent 3D sparklies that I have made, I figured I would post them. :)

3D Flag Hearts
The larger heart on the viewer's left was made with 4mm Swarovski crystal bicones as a sample for a class I was teaching at Micheal's Arts and Crafts. Sadly, they decided to do away with most of the jewelry classes. The smaller heart on the right is made with 3mm bicone crystals. I added a hanger to it so it can be attached to a key chain or a cell phone. The smaller heart is about the size of a quarter. Both hearts have beads in the center to make them puffy and they are reversible. :)

It really is 3D and double sided :)
I think it would be really cute to make a bunch of these to sell to raise money for the soldiers and their families. If I had the time, I definitely would. :) And they would be cute on a chain and worn as a necklace. Hmm..I don't know how it would look as a ring...you would have to use only one half of it.

Solid Pink 3D Heart
Just wanted to show that this heart is still cute if you use a solid color. :)
