Tamami the Turtle's Ready for Easter

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to introduce Tamami the pretty little turtle. :)
Tamami means beautiful gem in Japanese and this little gem loves dressing up. :) Since Easter is around the corner, she wanted to dress up like a little bunny. She has donned her ears, tied on her tail, and stepped into her pink slippers with pretty red bows. Now she's ready to party but has no where to go. Who will want to invite her to their Easter celebrations?

Free Pattern: Little Muggles's Sheldon the Turtle
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft
Hook: 4.25 mm
Findings: 9 mm safety eyes, blush, false eye lashes

Alterations I made:

Ears: Panda8ngel Creations pattern:
1  4 sc in magic ring (4)
2  inc around (8)
3 * inc, sc* around (12)
4  sc around (12)
5  sc around (12)
6  *5 Sc, inc* repeat (14)
7  sc around (14)
8  *5 sc, dec* around (12)
9  *1 sc, dec* around (8)
10 sc around (8)
11 sc around (8)

Feet/Shoes: I used her pattern but I used 2 colors and added a bow. Rows 1-6 are pink and rows 7-10 are white. To make the bows, I wrapped the yarn aroudn 2 fingers 3x and then wrapped the middle a few times and tied a square knot. I just tied these bows on before I stuffed and sewn the feet onto the body.

Spots: I also used 3 different sized circles: Small: 10 sc into magic ring, Med: 10 dc into magic ring, Large: I used Little Muggle's medium circle pattern.

Heart Pattern: Salt for the Spirit's Free Itty Bitty Crochet Heart

I hope you guys will check out Little Muggle's page for more adorable amigurumi. :) Have a great weekend!

Cup of Coco Feltie and Crochet Heart charm

Here are a couple of little crafts that I made in the past few days.

Here is a nice cup of hot coco feltie keychain. :) I drink a lot more hot coco than coffee. Mmmm mmm good. :) I wonder if I should put some mini marshmallows in the coco since that's how I like mine. :) I am also happy to report that my blanket stitch is getting better. :)

Here is a crochet heart cell charm/ fob. I used Sailor Octopus's free pattern. Do you think it would work for a Mother's Day present? I am racking my brain for Mother's Day presents. On the next one, I might add a cute face. :)

Hook: 3.75mm
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red

Happy Hump Day!

I Heart my Friends

Happy SAD! Happy V-Day!

I am sending all my love to my friends and family since I don't have a guy to shower. :)

My mom's Valentines Day gift. It's a bracelet I made for her with frame beads from inmcrystal.com. I printed out black and white pics of her favorite people onto cardstock and slipped them in. This is not waterproof but my mom doesn't want to wear it too much. :P She's just going to keep it for sentimental value. I was going to cover each picture, front and back, with modge podge to protect it. :) And to make it more comfortable to wear, I used stretchy cord with a clasp.

Hope you guys have a great day! I am going to say it's ok to overdo the sweets, but just today. :p

3 Hearts

I really want to make some Chinese New Years red lucky bracelets but once I started, it turned out to be a Valentines bracelet instead. It is also quite a different look than what was in my head but I really like how it turned out. You just never know what you will end up with, so just start beading. :) This is an original design by me, enjoy! :)

3 Hearts Valentines Day bracelet
Close up of the motif
Heart clasp
Extender chain

This adorable little dinosaur model is a Valentines gifts from 2011 from my friend, Rachel. Isn't it the cutest! :) The bracelet just fits as a collar.

I hope you are all starting your Valentines beading and crafting. It is coming up soon and fast, as all holidays do. :)

Lazy day finish 1

So this is the first finish of my lazy day crochet UFOs (Un-finished objects). I made the first pair of hearts into earrings.

As I made the bottom embellishment, I thought they would be cute earrings on their own. So, I made those earrings too. :) I reused the wire from the wire ribbon I used to make the ribbon flowers. Yes, I am a crafter and so I keep just about everything. :P The wire was perfect, thin enough that it made it easier to wrap around the heart and string on the beads.

Sorry for the dirty glass. I used a vase that still had glitter in it from the ornaments that were in there during Xmas.

Have you started your Valentines Day jewelry making yet?

So Lazy...

I was too lazy to clean up my beading work area and I wanted to be productive so I just pulled out some yarn and a crochet hook. I always have to clean up my beading space before I can work on anything or there would be too much stuff in my way. So, here are the fun, fast, and easy little cuties I made and the links to the patterns so you can make them too. :)

My usual Rose
If you follow my blog at all then you have seen this same rose made with lots of different yarn. I just wanted to see how it would look with this color changing yarn. I doubt I would make enough to do a wall installation but I think it would be cute to make like 10-20 and frame them so it is like a 3D art piece.

Here are a few mini-hearts that were quick and easy an so so cute! Sorry, I didn't take a pic to show the size but they are the size of my thumb and I have small hands. Above is my first heart so it is not perfect. I fix the huge hole in the middle, I took the tail and crochet over the tail when going around the ring which allows me to pull on the tail and close the hole when I am finished. (Panda's Tip of the Day!) :)

I started to make these hearts in pairs as long as the color matches so that I can make them into earrings for all my lovely single ladies on Singles Awareness Day. :p

Mandy's favorite 5-petal flower pattern (it is actually not my favorite hehe). It is cute and I forgot that I have made it before with a bamboo yarn. But I like the flower bellow a little better.

5 petal daisy
This is also from Little Birdie Secrets's blog as was the mini-heart and the other flower. This is her daisy pattern and I think it is adorable what she has made this for. She made this flower to adorn a beanie but the really cute twist is that the flower is interchangeable. :) You should go to her blog and check out all her cute projects. She has a lot of cute free patterns and patterns for sale.

6 petal daisy
I made this one with the same 5 petal daisy pattern but with an extra petal. I did the extra petal to balance out the color change from the yarn. :) I really like how the petals are more defined.

Yes, I do have to weave in the ends to all of these, which I will do as soon as I post this post. hehe
And I will post pics of how I finished these when I do. :P

~~Have a nice, productive, and restful MLK weekend!~~

Congrats to the Newlyweds!!!

Congrats to my good friends!!! They finally got married!!!
Sadly I couldn't be there to celebrate with them since it was in the Philippines.
So, I sent my happy wishes and love with this necklace. :)
She wore a red and black sexy dress so I made this to match.

3D beaded Heart in Light Siam
I searched through my stash of Swarovski Crystal hearts but didn't have a red (Light Siam) one in the right size so I made this one using 3mm Swarovski bicones so it was smaller.

Heart made into a pendant

In order to put focus on the pendant and heart, I added more beads in the center and had a different, more simple design on the sides.

I have these heart clasps that I thought would be cute. I had a heart lock and key charms so I thought it would be cute to put it on the necklace too since they unlocked each other's hearts. :)

The finished necklace.

I made a ribbon flower with a Poinsettia center. I added the yellow ribbon because she likes red and yellow, also because I thought it looked cute. It was perfect to have the red poka dot wrapping paper and yellow ribbon. :) A little cute whimsy that is so her. :)

I made the flower into a hair clip and just clipped it onto the present in lieu of a bow. It think it's a cute way to give another present on the present. :)

I made this in early December but had to wait till all the paperwork goes through and they actually get married before posting these as to not ruin the surprise. :)

Congrats guy!! I am so happy for you! May this new life together be filled with lots of love, happiness, laughter, and little mini-yous! :) Miss you guys!

Presents for a Beautiful Thailand Princess

My friend went to visit his fiance in the Philippines. So, I made him bring some presents for her from me. :) He is her Xmas present. hehe Sorry, but this will be a long post.

This is the bag that everything fit in. It is about the size of a piece of paper and 2 inches thick. It took almost 1/2 of his suitcase. Luckily, he is a guy and so didn't need to bring too much clothes with him and he is a super packer from years of experience in the Army. hehe The bag is from the dollar section of Michael's but is a very sturdy and cute little tote. I am sure she will find other uses for it. :)

She loves chocolates and her favorite brand is Ritter Sport. We have it here in Target so I got her some of those. Since she likes whole hazelnuts, I thought she would like to try Ferrero Rocher if she has not tried it before. The bear was just way too cute. :) It is made my Lindt. I love their chocolates with the smooth centers but I like the square ones not the round ones. Sadly, they stopped selling the square ones. These Belgian Chocolate thins are yummy. They have a little crunch to them and are thin enough so that you can eat 1-3 and it will satisfy a craving well enough. :)

On her Xmas list, she asked for creme eyeshadow. I did not know how hard it was to find and get over here. I mainly found creme eye liner but these were nice so I got some for her. I think Clinique had some eyeshadow creme pens but they were hard for me to use. I hope these work well for her. :)

These little bundles contain some cute hair clips. :) They needed to be wrapped simply so that they can fit into the tote bag or else I could not get everything in there. :)

Rose hair clips I crochet for her. Red, because it's one of her fav colors and blue because her working uniform is blue. Can you see the sparkilies? :)

Ribbon hair clip in her favorite colors, red and yellow. :)

The backs of the hair clips.

Queen Anne Lace Scarf finished!

And here is how I wrapped it. :)

Made a tube out of card stock. I was going to put it into an empty food container but I think it would make it harder to get it though the metal detectors in the airport.

I made rosettes from the wrapping paper I used to wrap the cylinder. These will close off the cylinder at both ends.

Then I accordion folded the scarf into the cylinder.

I added the rosette to the other end and tied it together with curling ribbon.

And that's it. It's a little hard to work with but it is really cute. I think of it as anther version of the Christmas cracker. The ends are a bit different because I had to fit it into the tote. :)

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Here are the last two gifts I made for her and put into the package. :)

Pink Side
3D beaded Cross Bookmark.

Red Side
Yep, it is double sided.:) I think you can see the lobster claw clasp. That will allow her to take the cross off the bookmark and use it as a pendant for a necklace.

Lastly, I made this bell bracelet. It was a last minute bout of inspiration. :) I had to figure out how to put bells onto a bracelet but I didn't want to do the old charm bracelet method or stringing them on because that would take too many. So, I wove a simple base and added the bells as adornments. I was going to use a blue base because that is the 3rd color in the triangle on the color wheel but I wasn't feeling it.

I added the cluster of bells in the center because I miss counted the spaces. hehe but I like it! Some times covering up a mistake makes it more special. :)

I hope my friends are having a great Xmas together! I miss them both and hope someday we can all celebrate the holiday together in person. :)

I hope all of you are having a great December filled with friends and family, lots of laughter and love, and plenty of crafting! :)

Note: I made and wrapped all of these in the first week of December but I have to wait till after she opens up her gifts to post this. :)
