Pokeball Cup Cozy

This is the absolute last thing I am making for MobiCon. :p I got the idea from one of my favorite amigurumi site, All About Ami. She did a pokeball cell phone cozy which looked cute so I made a cup cozy. Here's something for the boys. :)

Materials:
Yarn: Lion brand Vanna's Choice in black
4.25mm Crochet hook
Red and white felt

Free Bunny Rabbit Amigurumi Crochet Patterns

My oldest friend, not old as in age but old as in we've known each other since middle school!, has started crocheting. Yea! Her first amigurumi is this cute little bunny blob. :) I thought since she doesn't have a pinterest account. What?!?!?! I know...but she doesn't so I though I would post some cute free bunny ami patterns that I have found for all of you guys's enjoyment. :)

Patten Springbunny Sideview

First off is Stephanie from All About Ami's Spring Bunnies. I love all of her free patterns. She also has a great drawing showing you how she did their little nose. And the rose is included in the free pattern. :) I made this bunny for my friend (you can see it here) but it looks completely different. :P

Here is Stephanie's other adorable bunny, Sweet Heart Bunny. She does this post called "Crochet Corner" where she showcases other's people's versions of her patterns, check out other people's Sweetheart bunny here.

This is the Miffy Bunny Doll by Armina Parnagian.

Here is Petunia the Purple bunny Ballerina by Sweet N' Cute Creations. I am definitely going to try making this little cutie one day but I think I might change the ears.

Anita did a wonderful job of changing the original pattern found here, that I just posted a picture of her version which can be seen here. :)

PatchesFront

This is Patches - the Carrot Loving Bunny from ami amour.

Here is Miss Emma Bunny Rabbit. I love how she added the rhinestones into the insides of her ears. :)

Over Easter, I found these two cute egg bunnies.

Amiguria posted the bunny and eggs patterns

Lion Brand Yarn has this cute Amigurumi Bunny Egg Cozy free on their site. You just have to register for free to get access to all their cute patterns.

Here are a few more odd balls that I think are really cute! :)

free amigurumi crochet pattern

Say hi to the Pink Rabbit Monster! hehe I think she is too cute to be a real monster. :p

And this is Tuzki the Rabbit. I love his attitude. hehe

Now you might be a little frightened by this one but I think my friend will get a hoot out of him. hehe

Zombi Bunny!!! I really like him for Halloween. hehe

I have like 4 free patterns for large bunnies with long arms and legs but I think there are enough patterns on this post to make it huge so I will save those for another day. :)

So, I will leave you guys with this recently found pattern. Now, it is not a crochet pattern but it is so cute!

How to sew sock bunny

Craft Passion has a lot of cute sewing patterns including the sock monkey so they did Sock Bunnies!!! Since my friend made this really cute Fortune cat out of socks, I think she will really like these sock bunnies. hehe

I hope this post has inspired you guys to make your own little army of bunnies to keep the monsters away at night. :) Have fun!

Heart Mom feltie & Experiment went wrong

I made a "Heart Mom" feltie keychain with a pocket for a little note for my friend's yard sale. She is selling stuff to raise money for her church trip to El Salvador. They go out there to help build homes for the poor. It is an even more special trip because last year, on the same mission, she didn't know it but she met her now finance. They are getting married in November. :) I'm so happy for them. Since the yard sale is this Saturday, the day before Mother's Day, I thought a few themed items would be nice for last min gift buyers. :)
and this feltie experiment came out so wrong. :p

I was trying to make a dragon onigiri feltie but failed. As you can see, I did not finish it because I didn't like it. I don't know if it is the eyes or the "ears" but it just looks too strange. I do like the back though. It does look like a row of horns down his back or a mohawk. hehe

I like to share some of my failed experiments because when I see other people have tried and failed too, it doesn't make me feel so bad. :) I might try again but with a different design. :)

Good luck with your Mother's Day gift shopping!

Saphira Dragon amigurumi

Saphira from the Eragon book series.
When my friend, Rachel, showed her mom my other dragon amigurumi, her mom immediately wanted one because she loves the dragon, Saphira. Of course, being a good daughter, Rachel, asked me to make one in time for Mother's Day. Here she is! :)

Yes, I am currently reading the last book in the series. :)

iPiccy is a free online photo editing site. It has a cool collage feature but I don't like how you can't shrink, enlarge, or rotate the pics within the collage feature. It is very frustrating.

Materials:
Caron Simply Soft in Celestial
Crochet hook: 3.25mm
Safety eyes: 12mm
white felt

I don't like making the same thing over and over. There will probably be only one more amigurumi dragon from this pattern that I will make for a dragon baby that is coming soon. :) Each time I make something simliar, I like to change things to try to improve on the design or try something new.

This time I used this crochet wing pattern, sort of. I accidentally skipped row 2 so I went with the pattern of just hdc down the row then dec on the last two for each row. I still don't know how to actually crochet 2 hdc together but I winged it (no pun intended. :)). It gives a different look than the felt embroidered wings.

I also attached the arms and tail on before stuffing the body. It made it easier. You just have to know how the body will look after stuffing and position the appendages appropriately. After you stuff, your amigurumi can be shaped a little different.

Panda's Tip of the Day

Use dryer sheets to trap the pellets so they will not slip pass the crochet stitches.

I like the use of these poly pellets to weigh down your amigurumi a little so it can stand a little better but I fear these little balls of plastic might be squeezed out between the crochet stitches. So, I used some dryer sheets to make little pouches with a few simple running stitches. It works really well and I didn't have to go buy some cloth. As you can see in the last pic, that it really worked. :)

Cup of Coco Feltie and Crochet Heart charm

Here are a couple of little crafts that I made in the past few days.

Here is a nice cup of hot coco feltie keychain. :) I drink a lot more hot coco than coffee. Mmmm mmm good. :) I wonder if I should put some mini marshmallows in the coco since that's how I like mine. :) I am also happy to report that my blanket stitch is getting better. :)

Here is a crochet heart cell charm/ fob. I used Sailor Octopus's free pattern. Do you think it would work for a Mother's Day present? I am racking my brain for Mother's Day presents. On the next one, I might add a cute face. :)

Hook: 3.75mm
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red

Happy Hump Day!

Earth Day 2012

So, I am back posting this because on Earth Day, something told me to take the day off from some tech by killing my laptop charger completely. :) After no touching the internet for 3 days, I finally bought a new one. :p I hope you guys had a great Earth Day and did something for future generations. Here is a link to 10 easy ways to be green. :)

Easter Bunny

Please help me welcome Lady Fluffington into the world. :) She was born on Easter Sunday but she didn't reach her family until now.

I got the free Spring Bunny pattern from All About Ami. I love all her patterns, :) My bunny looks really different from hers but I think it's because of the eye placement. The facial feature details really make the amigurumi. :)

Without the hat

Love her bunny tail!
Does she look like a puppy?
Ears up!
As you can see I changed the pattern a little. I didn't add fabric to the inside of the ears or felt to the bottom of her feet. I just did a color change for the details. Here's how I did it.

Pattern Modifications:
Ears:
R1: in all white
R2: Sc 2 in each sc for 2 sc spots in white (you will end up with 4sc in white) then change to blue for 1 sc spot (2) then change back to white for the last 2 sc (4)
R3: follow the pattern but where you have white stitches, use the white yarn and where you have blue stitches, use the blue yarn. I just pulled the blue yarn loosely over. You should end up with 6 White - 3 Blue - 6 White.
R4: 6 sc in white - 4 sc in blue (do not inc, just stitch another blue in the next white spot) - 5 sc in white
R7: add another blue the same way you did R4. You will end with 6W-5B-4W
R9: Just follow the colors around, you will never have to dec a white and blue together
R13: change the last blue to white to get 4W-2B-3W
R15: change to all white

Confusing? You should look at my notes. :p If I make another bunny, I will take step by step pics to help you guys out. :)

Legs:
R1-3 in Blue
R4-7 in white
That simple. :)

With her cute tophat.
I used this free top hat pattern but added one more row to the brim. I also added cardboard inside to keep it stiff. I put a pin back on the bottom of the hat so that it can be taken off or re-positioned.

She is going to my good friend, Rachel, who has always supported me. Love ya Bunny, both bunnies! :)
You can check out my Lady in her new home on Rachel's blog. :)
