It's July already!?!?!

I'm so sorry to those that check my blog only. It's been 3 months since I have posted here.

I honestly haven't been crocheting much. I've been playing a lot of tabletop board games. I hope to go at least once a week and I have lots of fun. :)
The last thing I really crochet was for Easter. Sorry! I just realized that never posted about it on this blog.

But here's the link to the tumblr page if you want to check out more pics. :) http://tmblr.co/Z_x5dt1Dlc0K2

Let's see, some big stuff, I went to Taiwan for 2 weeks. Bought a lot of cute stuff and ate a lot of good food. But the main reason I went was because I had to see my grandma. It has been 7 years since I last saw her! O.o Terrible!!

This long holiday weekend has been filled with family, friends, and fun. And it's not over yet! Yesterday, I went to the Rose Bowl and saw a motorcycle stunt show, hear a concert with a teeny bopper (do they call them that anymore? O.o) and a Beatles Cover band and saw a really great fireworks show. Today I went to see How to Train Your Dragon 2 and loved it!

By Lil' Panda

Taken by me. :)
Tomorrow I'm going to be meeting up with Stephanie from All About Ami and Josephine from A Morning Cup of Jo Creations, plus 18 other crocheters form the area! How cool! It's my first crochet meet up so I don't really know what to do there but gush! hehe

One cool thing, half of us are going to do a handmade pin exchange! I won't give away the surprise so you will have to wait like the others to see the pins I made but they are really quick, easy, and gosh darn kawaii! :) So I hopefully will remember to post pics. :)

I do have an Instagram and Facebook Page, both under Panda8ngel Creations if you want faster pics. :) I haven't figured out how to post to this blog from my phone. Sorry once again!

But I hope you all had a great long Happy Independence Day USA weekend. Stay safe and keep on making! :)

Paper Bunnies

Hi Ya'll!!!
Easter is around the corner...ahh!! hehe Yes, I am behind but my friends are very patient with me. :)
Here are some Free Origami Bunnies / Rabbits to decorate with. :)

Origami box in the shape of a rabbit

Origami Spirit has a good video (link) to show you how to fold this bunny. I suggest you watch it all the way through first so that you sort of know what is coming next. She goes pretty fast but there's always the pause and rewind buttons. :)

I've made a bunch, filled them with kisses and will donate them to a bake sale to help raise funds for charity. My friends are going down to El Salvador to help build homes and pass out items to the poor.

Here's another Free Paper Bunny Goodie Bag Tutorial (Link). You start with a paper bag and just cut out the ears using the template provided. It's pretty quick and simple. :)

The Sunday Baker shows you how to fold this cute origami paper napkin for your Easter table (link). I think it has so much character! :) It would be really cute in different colors too. :) I can see them now, hopping down the middle of my table. :)

And lastly, here is the Free tutorial on how to fold this classic bunny. You can fold it with paper or fabric napkins. Link 1 has picture tutorial and Link 2, from Chinet, has a video tutorial.

Chinet has other napkin folding tutorials for you to check out and add to your dinning table. :)

I hope your Easter preparation is going well.. :)

Tamami the Turtle's Ready for Easter

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to introduce Tamami the pretty little turtle. :)
Tamami means beautiful gem in Japanese and this little gem loves dressing up. :) Since Easter is around the corner, she wanted to dress up like a little bunny. She has donned her ears, tied on her tail, and stepped into her pink slippers with pretty red bows. Now she's ready to party but has no where to go. Who will want to invite her to their Easter celebrations?

Free Pattern: Little Muggles's Sheldon the Turtle
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft
Hook: 4.25 mm
Findings: 9 mm safety eyes, blush, false eye lashes

Alterations I made:

Ears: Panda8ngel Creations pattern:
1  4 sc in magic ring (4)
2  inc around (8)
3 * inc, sc* around (12)
4  sc around (12)
5  sc around (12)
6  *5 Sc, inc* repeat (14)
7  sc around (14)
8  *5 sc, dec* around (12)
9  *1 sc, dec* around (8)
10 sc around (8)
11 sc around (8)

Feet/Shoes: I used her pattern but I used 2 colors and added a bow. Rows 1-6 are pink and rows 7-10 are white. To make the bows, I wrapped the yarn aroudn 2 fingers 3x and then wrapped the middle a few times and tied a square knot. I just tied these bows on before I stuffed and sewn the feet onto the body.

Spots: I also used 3 different sized circles: Small: 10 sc into magic ring, Med: 10 dc into magic ring, Large: I used Little Muggle's medium circle pattern.

Heart Pattern: Salt for the Spirit's Free Itty Bitty Crochet Heart

I hope you guys will check out Little Muggle's page for more adorable amigurumi. :) Have a great weekend!

Easter Bunny

Please help me welcome Lady Fluffington into the world. :) She was born on Easter Sunday but she didn't reach her family until now.

I got the free Spring Bunny pattern from All About Ami. I love all her patterns, :) My bunny looks really different from hers but I think it's because of the eye placement. The facial feature details really make the amigurumi. :)

Without the hat

Love her bunny tail!
Does she look like a puppy?
Ears up!
As you can see I changed the pattern a little. I didn't add fabric to the inside of the ears or felt to the bottom of her feet. I just did a color change for the details. Here's how I did it.

Pattern Modifications:
Ears:
R1: in all white
R2: Sc 2 in each sc for 2 sc spots in white (you will end up with 4sc in white) then change to blue for 1 sc spot (2) then change back to white for the last 2 sc (4)
R3: follow the pattern but where you have white stitches, use the white yarn and where you have blue stitches, use the blue yarn. I just pulled the blue yarn loosely over. You should end up with 6 White - 3 Blue - 6 White.
R4: 6 sc in white - 4 sc in blue (do not inc, just stitch another blue in the next white spot) - 5 sc in white
R7: add another blue the same way you did R4. You will end with 6W-5B-4W
R9: Just follow the colors around, you will never have to dec a white and blue together
R13: change the last blue to white to get 4W-2B-3W
R15: change to all white

Confusing? You should look at my notes. :p If I make another bunny, I will take step by step pics to help you guys out. :)

Legs:
R1-3 in Blue
R4-7 in white
That simple. :)

With her cute tophat.
I used this free top hat pattern but added one more row to the brim. I also added cardboard inside to keep it stiff. I put a pin back on the bottom of the hat so that it can be taken off or re-positioned.

She is going to my good friend, Rachel, who has always supported me. Love ya Bunny, both bunnies! :)
You can check out my Lady in her new home on Rachel's blog. :)

Bunny Spring Package

Here is the Spring Basket I just sent for my friend, Rachel. Since there are few goodies that I had no idea what was in it, here is a link to her blog post which shows all the goodies unwrapped. :)

Chinese Pineapple Cakes from a famous place in Taiwan
Amigurumi that will be sold at MobiCon. :)
I put them in a Dumpling togo box I had washed out.
Bed of fake grass on tissue paper in a clean Gladware container = Wrapping!
Goodies inside just for Rachel
The milk carton and Steampunk donut you've seen but here's a new guy, Chinese Egg tart. :) I also added some chocolate candies that my Aunt brought from Taiwan recently.

Wrapped with a bow. :)

Bunny that poops candy! hehe

I peaked in the envelope and it's from 2008 O.o LOL The package with some of these things were thought to be lost but was just hiding in my garage amongst empty boxes. :p

Here's a sock change purse. I love these bc they are so cute! The box inside contained a real Jade bunny necklace that I bought for her from my trip to China. We went to a jade factory on the tour and I knew she would like it. :)

Unknowns until I saw what was in side from her blog. hehe The blue package is from my trip to Hawaii. It contained a bookmark I found in a cute little shop there and some candies and cookies. My friend just got stationed there so more chances to go back. :) The pink is from sanrio and it contains Sugarbunny stationary. And I think the purple has cute witch stationary I found in Little Tokyo here in Cali. The white envelope in front is not white but a pretty green color and contains my Easter card and some letters and a Target bunny gift card that I thought was really adorable. I use used gift cards as bookmarks. :)

I forgot to take a pic of the white fabric lined basket I put all this stuff in. I wrapped the basket in a purple cellophane bag. I also forgot to take a pic of all the reusable shopping bags that I sent her. You can see both on her blog post (the link is at the top of this post). :)

Happy Easter and Happy Spring!!!

Spring Package from Bunny

My friend, Rachel, sent me a very sweet package. :) I love receiving packages from her. They are always full of cute stuff. hehe She also posted about it on her blog

This is beautiful wrapping paper. The yellow is so spring but I love the pattern. :) I can just imagine a tone on tone of this pattern on my walls but in blue. :)

Heart ice pop molds. :) I can't wait for it to get warm enough. This will be so yummy! I might even try this fudge pop recipe I found online. :p

I love craft magazines and books! :) So many new ideas. hehe And I love the ami book! It has been featured on all my favorite amigurumi blogs. I can't wait to start on some of the cuties inside. :)

My friend cross stitched this free mockingjay pattern for a special project of mine. :) For you Hunger Games lovers, stay tuned. I should finish the project sometime in the next few weeks. :)

I just wanted to quickly show how she sent it. She first put it in a page protector, then in a yellow folder that matched her pretty wrapping paper. :) It's a great way to ship out your cross stitching.

She also always puts in some cool candy. I love the bunny because when you squeeze it's belly, it makes the sounds from the commercials. hehe I like gummy candies and these Angry Birds ones look yummy. :)

And lastly, some craft supplies. I couldn't find these colors here so she was nice enough to send them to me. But look, it's a beaded panda kit! Yea!!!!! Score!!! hehe Thanks Bunny!!!

I hope you guys have great friends like mine. :)
